Goodbye to a Journey

My Blog Writing Experience This is the last day I will be writing on this blog. This is by far the coolest and most meaningful assessment I have done throughout my time on campus. While I had heard of blog writing before for all these days, it was only over the last three months that I actually learnt how to write a blog and express my thoughts creatively.  During this time, I wrote my blogs with real excitement. While it was an assessment, it was more than just a task for me it not only helped improve my English writing skills but also boosted my confidence. At times as I was unable to solely conform with a rule of posting two blogs per week, however I tried my best to upload my blogs in a creative and engaging manner.  However, it is that feeling of accomplishment from writing a blog that makes me want to continue blogging in the future as well. Not only has it helped me grow academically, but personally as well.”  Today being the last day of this assessment, I b...

The peacock

Image
Nature's Dancing Queen Peacock is a gorgeous bird present in our natural environment. Its long colorful tail feathers are its specialty. Once it displays these feathers and dances, the sight is indelibly etched into those who view it. It does this dance not just to entice a mate, but also, according to folklore, before the rains come. When it comes to pure beauty, the peacock is the queen of natural birds.

The Spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year The Sinhala and Tamil New Year, or “Aluth Aurudhu” in Sinhala and “Puthandu,” in Tamil, is a cultural festival that is believed to have originated as a harvest celebration, signifying the sun’s transition from the astrological constellation Pisces to Aries. New Year is in the month of Bak (April) "Times of Plenty" comes from bhagya имос Fortune stuff borrowed from Sanskrit. Many rituals like boiling a pot of milk, making of milk rice, decorating houses with Kolam etc., are also performed on this day as a symbol to welcome guests and the Goddess of prosperity – Lakshmi. The ceremonies surrounding this celebration employ the energies of alliance, which directly approaches distancing and isolation in the theme of renewal. In Sinhalese traditions, children offer a sheaf of betel to their elders and in Hindu traditions, as prayers are offered post pooja, five mango leaves in a pot immerse with coconut lighted joss sticks flowers betel...

One Massage, One Dream, One Unforgettable Moment There are special experiences in life that we cannot forget. Among them, few days or experiences are really worth forgetting. Therefore, for me, the most unforgettable experience in my life is just a memory of that day when I was accepted to college. Being nervous and disappointed while waiting for an answer from the university, then finally that day with final arrival by about 9.30 pm on September 20th, 2024.My friend was the bearer of this good news that I had got on campus. It was as much a dream to hear that as anything else. So that experience was a beautiful day which I will never forget.

Open a Book, Discover a New World As I approach of the topic of reading books. Books can take us to new places, new ideas and see the world in a different way. Reading is also good for our mind. It helps us learn new words, think better and if us read in English we can improve us language step by step. Sometimes people say they are too busy to read. But we can read before our sleep. Books are quiet friends. So, pick up a book and open the first page. Because a new world is waiting for you.

The Swan's Pace

Trading City Chaos for Lakeside Rhythm        Today my step was light and swift when I walked around the lake in Kandy. After I came out from inside of the Temple of the Tooth, except that lake around seems to be only place in all Kandy where I can relax and breathe deeply. The gentle breezes sweeping around my body seem to carry off all of my worries exactly like a crow suddenly stealing the food from our hands. At that same time, the swans and ducks, walking in their own rhythm, seem to remind us how beautiful freedom really is. And just as the soft south wind blows, rippling water on Ruby Lake forms itself into a kind of rhythm, as though of its own accord it is dancing with the rhythm of this wind. Anyway, I felt that once you go there, there is no further need to free your mind. the very atmosphere if it suffices.  .

When Truth Hurts

A Journey Beyond Fate  The story of Oedipus the King describes the serious conflict between fact and the truth. While trying to save his country, Oedipus finds a most dreadful truth - he has, unconsciously, killed his father and married his mother. This story shows us people can't escape what is destined to be. And some truths are quite painful to accept. Oedipus attempts not to have his fate come true, but it does. In the end he suffers immensely for what he has found out to be true.
